Just a few days after a telecommunication mast fell and killed a 52 years old man in Lagos, another telecommunication mast fell on a residential building at Udoka Housing Estate in Awka, Anambra State, on Tuesday, but luck was on the side of the 3 residents as they came out all alive.
Mr. Joseph Eze, his wife, Veronica and their daughter all had a well prepared dinner and went to bed when they heard a sudden bang on their building and ran out to see their house been divided by a mast that was still under construction.
“We were sleeping around 10 p.m when the rain started falling with heavy wind and the next thing we heard was a big bang on our building. We ran out of the bed and saw part of the mast resting on our bed.” Eze said.
Residents of the environment complained that the authorities of the Anambra State Housing Development Corporation warned against erection of the mast but the owners went ahead to erect it.
