Following the shutting down of ThisDay newspaper offices in Lagos and Abuja, Thursday, by aggrieved staff and journalists protesting non-payment of their six month salaries, embattled Chairman/Editor-in-Chief, Nduka Obaigbena, has blamed the company’s failure to pay its workers’ salaries for the past six months on the activities of Boko Haram. Obaigbena said the misfortune of a terrorist attack on its Abuja offices in April last year during which the company’s buildings, million-dollar printing and computer-to-plate equipment were gutted. Obaigbena said his company’s insurance did not cover the losses as it was not insured for War Risk.

Following the shutting down of ThisDay newspaper offices in Lagos and Abuja, Thursday, by aggrieved staff and journalists protesting non-payment of their six month salaries, embattled Chairman/Editor-in-Chief, Nduka Obaigbena, has blamed the company’s failure to pay its workers’ salaries for the past six months on the activities of Boko Haram.
